The Palais des Congrès located at Porte Maillot in the 17th arrondissement of Paris, has been a conference venue, concert hall and business center since 1999. Palais des Congrès also offers its visitors and participants a shopping concourse featuring many high-end stores and restaurants.
The Palais des Congrès is a 20-minute walk from the XO Hotel Paris and can be reached by public transit with the RER C train, or by taxi via Avenue des Ternes.
There is also a UGC Cinema of Les Boutiques du Palais located within the complex. It is open every day from 12:45 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. You can check movie listings and showtimes on the official UGC site. The shopping concourse includes 54 upscale boutiques and 7 restaurants, including Rural, owned by Michelin-starred chef Marc Veyrat. This atypical restaurant has the look of an authentic mountain chalet and is the perfect spot to unwind after a day of shopping.
Hosting more than 250 events a year, the Palais des Congrès is the venue for many major annual French and international meetings and conferences.
One of the most anticipated events of the year at Porte Maillot is «The World-Leading Course in International Cardiovascular Medicine» ( EuroPCR ). This is the official annual meeting of the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions. Each year, the association draws more than 10,000 participants.
Also on the calendar of events is the BIG DATA congress which brings together more than 15,000 participants who will be involved in workshops, exhibits and conferences. The congress will feature distinguished speakers, such as the French Secretary of State for Digital Affairs, the Director of Data for Europe and the General Manager of Information Systems for the French Ministry of the Armed Forces.
The National Congress of French Cardiologists is another much-anticipated event held at the Palais des Congrès. It includes a series of conferences on the most recent advances and future challenges of cardiologists.
Marc Veyrat is a three Michelin star chef who has also been named the best chef of the year a number of times in the Gault and Milau Restaurant Guide. Veyrat’s colleagues refer to him as the greatest botanist in the world. So, all of his restaurants are a voyage of discovery to the heart of French savoir-faire and the chef regional traditions. The chef is an emblematic figure of the Haute-Savoie region.
During his time as a guest at the XO Hotel Paris, Veyrat decided to establish a restaurant at the Palais des Congrès in a new and unconventional venue. He named it Rural, and today this popular restaurant attracts a corporate clientele as well as international tourists. The Rural restaurant offers a set menu consisting of a starter and main course or a main course and dessert for 30 euros. Also, there is a set menu including a starter, main course and dessert for 35 euros. It is the perfect place to relive traditional culinary experiences. Its menu can be described using 4 adjectives: Natural, Authentic, Convivial, and Generous. The selection of dishes make the restaurant the ideal place for a family dinner or business lunch.
Situated at the end of Avenue de la Grande Armée, within the Palais des Congrès, is the Palais Maillot Night Club. This is one of the best places to party the night away. It can be accessed from Boulevard Pershing. The club regularly features great musical artists like Drake and Rihanna as well as top international DJs like Bob Sinclar.
